Workshop - Looms and Lambs
Your first stop will be at the Knit Pickers studio, located just minutes away from Cavendish Beach and nestled in the rolling hills of Mayfield. Would you love to give some special, handmade gifts to friends and family but just don't think you have the time? What if you could knit a baby hat or a winter headband in an hour, or a cowl in two hours, or a scarf in four hours? All of this is possible on a knitting loom! In this two-hour workshop, you will learn how to cast on, knit a beautiful cowl and cast off - and no knitting experience is necessary. You will take home your own knitting loom, which has been hand-made in PEI. Want to learn even more? My "Loom Knitting Basics - Volume I" pattern book will be available to purchase.
Wrap up your Looms and Lambs adventure at Blomidon Farm. Located in pastoral Breadalbane, you'll be visiting the only Icelandic sheep farm on PEI! Originally brought to Iceland by the Vikings in the 9th or 10th century, Icelandic sheep are known for their intelligence. They are raised both for their meat and their wool.
"Looms and Lambs" is offered every second Friday from 11 am - 2 pm, June 14th - September 20, 2024. Space is limited - advance registration, including payment, is required to guarantee your spot.
Price: $69.00 (+HST) per person, all inclusive
**Note: No knitting experience required. For ages 5-105!
