Check out these beautifully handcrafted nostepinnes, made in the Maritimes from sustainably harvested old growth wood with a hand-rubbed finish of beeswax, raw linseed oil and pine resin. What is a nostepinne? It is an old-fashioned Scandanavian tool used to wind your skein of wool into a centre-pull ball. Nostepinnes were often given as engagement presents, or as a gift from a young man to a young lady to indicate his interest! A nostepinne handles a chunky wool far better than a plastic ball-winder.
